Comprehensive Autism Diagnostic Services

Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R)

A structured interview conducted with parents or caregivers to gather in-depth information about the child’s early development, communication, social interactions, and behaviour.

Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS)

A standardized assessment that involves observing the child’s communication, social interaction, and play or imaginative use of materials. 

Pediatric Assessment

A detailed evaluation of your child's medical history and a physical examination to rule out any underlying medical conditions that may affect development and behaviour.

Full Diagnostic Report

Based on the assessments, Dr. Smart will provide a comprehensive diagnostic report outlining key findings, a diagnosis (if applicable), and recommendations for support. This report meets B.C. requirements for an ASD diagnosis, and includes the necessary forms to access ministry funding.

  • Shorter wait times to having their questions and concerns answered
  • Earlier Autism intervention School  support:  BC Ministry of Education Autism funding and support for each child diagnosed with ASD
  • Community funding:  Ministry of Children and Family Development ASD funding- up to $22,000 annually for children under 6 and $6,000 annually for children 2-18
  • Access to the Canadian Disability Tax Credit and Registered Disability Savings Plan
